Sacred Heart School Gym Renovation Case Study
Sacred Heart School wanted to work with Academic specialties on the renovation of their gymnasium.
They were looking at a new floor, bleachers and wall pads. It was their intent that design incorporate their colors, logos and mission of the school. We were able to sit down and provide design assistance that included the following: Seating capacity and maximization. We needed to look at the available space and maximize their capacity taking into consideration all the codes required: Codes that include aisles, ADA and safety.Court layout, we provided information on how to layout your gymnasium floor for multiple sports. In this case basketball and volleyball. We made sure that the courts met the NFHS rules in regards of size. We also needed to make sure that the safety of the players and spectators was accounted for, this meant we needed to look at the way the bleachers laid out in relation to the courts. We made sure there was ample distance between the courts and the bleachers to protect all parties in the facility. Lastly we needed to insure that the gymnasium was aesthetically appealing. This is a focal point for the school and the first place many visitors see. We needed to make a good impression.
